Pointed ears

Pointed ears or pointy ears are a characteristic of several animal species, including cats and bats.

Many humanoid species have pointed ears as well, sometimes as the only or primary feature which differentiates them from humans. The most famous example is elves. Orcs, faeries and vampires are also sometimes depicted with pointed ears. Some extraterrestrial species, such as Vulcans, are recognisable by their pointed ears.
